Making Our Digipak and Magazine Advert

During todays lesson myself and Simon are creating a magazine advert for our Artist/Song. We are creating the magazine advert on Photoshop.
Our magazine advert will promote out Artist and is targeted to increase the popularity of the song.

Here are some examples of professional Music Magazine Adverts for the promotion of Ellie Goulding's song 'Lights' and artist 'Florence and the Machine's album 'Lungs'.

They are both very effective magazine adverts as they suit the artists style of music. The advert for Florence and the Machine is effective because it has elements such as bold writing that stands out to the audience and the image on the cover matches to her unique style.  Ellie Goulding's advert is also effective as it is simple with bold Gold writing which attracts the audience. Therefore they promote the artist very well.

Presentation Analysing Music Magazine Adverts

Survey Responses

Survey Responses

Here are some responses from their answers to my survey. The age group of my friends are from 17-23 years old. The age group shows that the 4 people that have completed my survey successfully enjoyed listening to the song, and have mentioned they enjoyed the guitar music, lyrics and the voice.

These survey results were successful from the 4 responses I have achieved so far because the answers agree that my chosen song has advantages to make a good music video, such as the emotion.

Digipak Cover and Images

After myself and Simon's photoshoot we have decided to use this image as our front cover. The photo was taken by Simon himself and represents the theme of our song.

We decided to create a few digipak images for the front cover using Photoshop. All of the images are different, with style of font, size of lettering and the bubble effect.

With bigger font.

With block writing, in a black background.

Here is the bubble effect.

We have decided to chose the bubble effect image as it is unique and interesting.

This will be our final photo for the digipak cover. The use of flowers matches the soft acoustic tone of the song, and the natural themes in our music video. The black and white effect on the image adds to the sad tones and story of the song.
For the inside images of the digipak we have decided to use a flowing picture of a flower or plant throughout the other still images.

Finished Music Video

Here is mine and Simon Moore's finished music video.

Student Magazine Advert Analysis

In order to create an effective magazine advert for my music video, it would be helpful to look at students past work to visualise  what is effective and successful and what area's could be improved on.
Before I create my own magazine advert it would be useful to compare what similarities are in professional magazine adverts and examples of student adverts.

Here we can see that is it useful to use themes from a real music magazine advert. As the bold title, and interesting images relating to the theme of the music attract the right audience which is what a real artists advert should accomplish.
