100 Greatest Music Videos


100- 'Musical Youth', 'Pass the Cutchie' 1982 - The band were in the first black british video on MTV.

 99- 'Supergrass' 'Pumping On Your Stereo'  

  98- 'Bronski Beat' 'Small Town Boy' 1984 - Was significant as the video told a story of a boy who went to London and admitted he was a homosexual , he was then criticised and beaten up in the story. People had to cover up being homosexual around this time, so the video was iconic for 'coming out' and having courage.

  97- 'Cornershop', 'Brimful of Asha' 

  96-  'So Solid Crew' 'Twenty One Seconds', Each of the singers introduce themselves in twenty one seconds, they are all different, for example one of them arrives as a tornado.

  95-  'The Cardigans', 'My Favourite Game' 1988, Joseph Akerlund director


  94-  'Bonnie Tyler', 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart', She was the first welsh artist to make it in the U.S,


  93-  'Rolling Stones' 'We Love You' , This video was drug related, and the reality of Brian as he was facing drug sentences and court at the time of the video.

  92- 'Herbie Hancock' 'Rock it' 1983, Contained dolls and body parts

  91- 'The Specials' 'Ghost Town'

  90- 'The Pet Shop Boys' 'Go West' 1933, Was a gay anthem about going west to America and admitting they were homosexuals, the song is significant of having freedom, and is interesting with its quirky costumes , of bright colours, looking like 'Lego men'
